Welcome to Veedubbing

Nics van - 1968 Baywindow

Although to the average onlooker this van is just an ordinary "bay window", but I can honestly say this is one of the best Vw's I've driven, it's set up properly, it's been lowered and runs on standard rims but it still has a smooth ride. It has a quick gear change and a new engine.
This van hasn't had the slightest of problems getting through the mot in the whole time Nic has had it, at 35 years old, not bad, it still
travels to shows at a steady 90 mph with no complaints.

The van used to be a proper surfy vw as it was painted Vw beat blue which looks like Porsche peppermint green and off white,
which looked cool. Nic thought it was time for a change and the van was totally stripped and prepped ready to be painted its original colour blue. The problem came that we hadn't allowed enough time for all the work to be carried out before RTTS and this weekend can't be spent in a tent, so at the last minute it was called upon for everyone to help put the van together.

Miriam was called in to take care of the reupholstering of the interior. Every panel has been covered in denim jean material and double stitched yellow cotton to look like a pair of old jeans.

Nic wasn't happy that his hard work restoring the van was ruined by a rushed rebuild as the new cal doors all around including rear hatch and engine lid are hidden by poor paint. The van is expected to have a new NOS front panel, be painted perfectly in two pack and have a redesigned interior. In the end of there is no more to it, it's a "RUFF PUB SHOW VAN" it goes to the shows to allow the owner to get drunk and sleep, no more than that even when it is a show van, it will still be a rolling off licence.

Nick has big plans for this bus but I fear his new project a 65 beetle
could draw his attention away from the van for a bit. On a budget you couldn't do better.
